Until further notice, I've decided to make my daily journal entries on SparkPeople.

 Not Budging

I can't seem to make any progress. I was doing OK yesterday until I came home from the gym and devoured the Wheat Thins (I'm NOT buying any more!). Then we went to babysit for baby Sam R. (what a cutie!) and Lisa had left out Stacy's baked pita chips for us. Naturally, I ate far more than one serving. I had a couple of Coronas, too, so I'm afraid I didn't make much progress even though I did 60 minutes on the elliptical.

It seems I'm back to the "What's it gonna take to get back in the right mindset to lose these last few pounds?"

 Saturday

I was doing OK until Wed night when we went to see "Chicago". I had way too much to drink over the course of the evening. That carried over into Thur when I went to the sandwich shop at the office and got a big ol' salad that was, shall we say, not really fat/calorie friendly. Then we went to Screen on the Green to see "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and everybody brought yummy things to eat and drink. I was pretty good on Friday until we went to the new British pub over by Kroger. I had something a chicken philly sandwich with onion rings.

Well, I'm going to hit the gym pretty hard today and try to stay on track calorie-wise.

 A Word From Our Sponser

Today's message is brought to you by Ocalawriter on the SparkPeople message board. She writes:

"It is not falling off the wagon that will make us fail, it is staying off. I used to be the type that would allow a slip (cheat, eating off-plan, etc et al) to completely turn into being off my plan. We all have the occasional unplanned eating moment. Accept it, account for it and get back on plan!

Really take time to think about eating and not just do it mindlessly. Overeating rarely has anything to do with food. When we find we are eating too much, it is helpful to try to understand what is eating at us too much.

I also used to be the type to clean my plate...can't you hear your parents voice now, "there are starving children in __________ (insert country here)". I finally undertand that throwing it away is an option...either it will go to waste, or it will go to waist, and I know which garbage is easier to take out!!"

 One Day at a Time

I did pretty well yesterday. I ate my healthy snacks and lunch during the day although by the time I got to tennis practice I was starving. I went with the girls from the team to the Concouse Grill and had tilapia and sweet potato fries. They gave me way too many of the fries and of course I had to eat them all. I did have two glasses of white wine but overall for the day not too bad.

Today may be a little more tough. It's my assistant's birthday and someone made a cake so I'm sure I'll have to have a taste of that. I'll try to stick to only one or two bites.
